| Born in Yokohama in 1976. Heisuke graduated the Arts faculty at California State University. After living in Los Angeles for 16 years, he returned to Japan in 2002 and has been working as a freelance illustrator. Having cultivated a different visual approach to Japanese artists from living in the US, he combines his cultural influences to create his work. The result is a strange world, combining nostalgic and futuristic elements, which are then executed using a mixture of digital and analog techniques. Heisuke's work spans genres from illustrations for CD sleeves, book covers, interior decoration (Hotel Tomo in San Francisco) to wesbites (Visa Card's site for The Beijing Olympics) and packaging design (Kenzo Parfums). |
